WILLIAMSON COUNTY — The coroner in Williamson County has identified the two people killed in a crash involving their motorcycle and a semi-tractor trailer just before 7 Saturday night in Williamson County.

Michael “Junior” Burke tells our sister station WQRL in Benton that 47-year-old Terry Gearhart and 45-year-old Tracy Gearhart – both of Murphysboro – were pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office.

The crash happened on Route 148 just a half-mile south of Pigeon Creek Road near the bridge going over Crab Orchard Lake.

The Gearhart’s were traveling south on Route 148 when Terry Gearhart crossed the center line and struck a northbound semi-tractor trailer head on.

The crash remains under investigation by the Williamson County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police.
