WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 28-year-old man on an outstanding warrant Tuesday accusing him of two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Under Age 13.

According to the sheriff’s department, investigators located Clint G. Russell at a residence in rural Jackson County and took him into custody on the two Class X felony charges.

Russell’s arrest is the result of an extensive investigation that originated on March 23, 2024, upon receiving a report concerning allegations of inappropriate contact.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and Williamson County State’s Attorney Ted Hampson for their assistance in the case.

Russell was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
