Chad Ryan Baltzell, 49, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly June 17, 2024 at his home in Knoxville. He was born September 15, 1974 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Dennis Baltzell and Vicki (Webb) McBride.

Chad is survived by his daughter, Laney Ryann; his parents, Dennis Baltzell and companion, Agaytha and Vicki McBride (Loren); girlfriend, Jennifer Boyer; sisters, Amy (Baltzell) Ferrell (Kris) and Brittany (Schmitt) Wilton (Jeremy); step-siblings, Chantel, Ryan, Brad, and Jennifer; nieces, Macy Ferrell and Mia Ferrell; nephews, Braxton Wilton and Brecken Wilton; and many other relatives and friends.

Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Denzil Baltzell and Mary Lou Baltzell; and maternal grandparents, George R. “Bob” Webb and Phylis Webb.

Chad was a graduate of Mount Vernon Township High School and was currently employed by Lazydays RV in Knoxville. He was a fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals and sports, in general. He enjoyed grilling, smoking meat, golf, and gardening. He was a collector of Dixxon flannels and lover of his canine companions, Moxy and Saler. Chad was special to many. He will be missed deeply by those he left behind who loved and cherished him.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Chad’s honor to Hughey Funeral Home.
