Donna Kay Owens, 85, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 11:37 pm June 29, 2024 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born September 22, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late  Randall Leland and Helen (Beadle) Corners. Donna married Harold Irvin Owens on September 28, 1956 in Woodlawn, Illinois. They were blessed with forty-seven years before he preceded her in death on November 18, 2003.

Donna is survived by her sons, Brad Owens and wife, Sheila of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania and Scott Owens and wife, Kelly of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Erin Owens of Charleston, South Carolina, Eric Owens and fiancée, Jordan Rheam of Barto, Pennsylvania, Gabe Owens and wife, Abby of Prosper, Texas, and Ross Owens and fiancée, Missy Grasse of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Stella and Mia Owens; brother, Darrell Corners of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and step sister, Karen Tacke of Paducah, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Corners.

Donna was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church. She worked at First National Bank in Woodlawn as a teller for many years and then worked as a secretary for Woodlawn High School and later, Rome Grade School. Donna enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, playing cards, and was an avid Saint Louis Cardinal fan. She loved spending time with her family especially, cheering on her grandchildren at their activities. Donna spent the last two years living at Green Tree Assisted Living where she was loved and cared for daily by the staff.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.
