Leland G. Allen, 86, of Iuka, Illinois, died at 4:15 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 7, 1937, in Romine Township, Illinois, the son of Howard Glen and Della Marie (Clifton) Allen.  On November 29, 1957, at Christian Home General Baptist Church in Iuka, he married Lois Jean Kent, and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2013.

Mr. Allen was a graduate of Helm School and Salem High School.  He retired from Illinois Central Railroad Car Shops, where he was known as “Casey”. He was a member of Christian Home Church, and enjoyed CB Radio, Nascar, mowing his yard, and working on engines and other mechanical projects.

He is survived by one son, Steven Allen and wife Becky of Iuka; one daughter, Donna Pearson and husband Danny of Iuka; three grandchildren, Joshua Allen and wife Mary Claire, Janelle Allen, and Jacob Allen and wife Kate; great-grandchildren, Weston Allen, Hallie Allen, and Miles Allen.

In addition to his wife, Lois Allen, he was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Needmore Cemetery in Xenia, Illinois.  There will be no visitation, and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be made to Needmore Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
