MARION COUNTY — A 21-year-old Central City man is in the Marion County Jail after he allegedly crashed his van into a church storage shed, and fleeing from the scene on foot before the vehicle had even stopped.
According to Centralia police reports, Slade Thompson was driving a van Saturday morning, when the vehicle allegedly struck a garage and a shed at the First Methodist Church on East Second.
As Thompson fled from the vehicle, he allegedly dropped a pill bottle containing what field tested positive as methamphetamine.
After running from police for about a block, Thompson gave up and was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine, obstructing a peace office, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended or revoked.
