MOUNT VERNON — According to police reports, three juveniles are accused of stealing rifles from a home in Mt. Vernon.

Reports indicate that on Saturday, officers with the Mt Vernon Police Department responded to a house burglary in the 2300 block of Wescott, where two AR-15 rifles were taken.

After the burglary, officers and detectives from the police department followed up on several leads that resulted in the recovery of both AR-15 rifles and three arrests.

The three juveniles were arrested and are currently detained at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility in Benton.
This is an ongoing investigation with additional charges likely.
