SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois state officials wants to remind commercial motor vehicle operators starting Wednesday there are new federal rules for testing and eligibility.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s office says his office has worked to communicate with CDL holders and the trucking industry about the new federal rules. He says the Mid-West Truckers Association and the Illinois Trucking Association also helped.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration enacted the changes.
The secretary of state’s office says drivers can get detailed information about the changes and new requirements at CDL facilities, at the office’s website or by calling the Illinois CDL Help Desk at 217-785-3108.
