CLINTON COUNTY — A 22-year-old Gillespie man is in the Clinton County Jail, following an incident Friday in Carlyle, during which shots were reportedly fired.
According to reports, Michael Lasica was arrested after fleeing a scene in the 21000 block of Dove Lane in Carlyle.
Callers initially advised two shots were fired in an unknown direction and that Lasica had displayed a long gun and threatened lives at the scene.
Witnesses also reported Lasica assaulted a family member by punching him in the mouth before fleeing.
He was formally charged this morning in Clinton County Court with Class 3 felony aggravated battery in a public place and misdemeanor aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Bail for Lasica has been set at $10,000, and he is scheduled for an August 12 first appearance with court appointed counsel.
