MURPHYSBORO — An arrest has been made in Sunday night’s armed robbery at MotoMart in Murphysboro. Police say a 16-year-old boy was taken into custody around 4:30 Monday afternoon and charged with armed robbery.
The boy was taken to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center in Benton. According to the police report, the boy walked into MotoMart around 11:10 p.m. and demanded money while armed with a knife.
He then fled the store on foot going south with an unknown amount of money. This is the second armed robbery at the business.
Last month, someone wearing a “Scream” mask and carrying a knife stole more than $300 from the store.
Three teens – ages 13, 14 and 15 – were later arrested for the robbery.
