MARION COUNTY — A 23-year-old Salem man who fell asleep in his car in front of the Salem Police Station was arrested over the weekend for possession of a controlled substance.
A Salem police officer first discovered the car in the roadway just before 1:30 Sunday morning. The driver, Brandon Wells, reportedly started to roll forward when police woke him up. However, police say he did not try to drive away.
The Marion County K-9 was brought in and indicated on the car, resulting in a search that reportedly led police to discover a powder that field tested positive for cocaine.
Wells was taken to the Marion County Jail where he awaits the formal filing of charges and setting of bail.
