CENTRALIA — A 36-year-old former Centralia man was taken to the hospital just after midnight Friday morning for treatment of injuries he suffered when his car crashed into a home near the 13th and Maple street intersection.
Thetis Johnson, now of St. Louis, reportedly told Centralia police that he had just left a woman’s home when his ex-girlfriend came along and attempted to driver her vehicle head-on into his.
Johnson claims he swerved to avoid colliding with the ex-girlfriend’s vehicle, and instead ran into the home he was leaving. Johnson’s vehicle suffered heavy damage and the foundation of the home was also damaged.
The ex-girlfriend reportedly left the scene and has not been located. Her identity has not yet been released.
