MOUNT VERNON — Mt. Vernon police arrested three subjects over the weekend in connection with a report of gun shots fired in the area of the 700 block of South 21st Street.
Following investigations, 22-year-old Chalar Taylor, 22-year-old Tyrane Jackson, and 30-year-old Taccarra Young were taken into custody on charges of manufacture/delivery of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis and possession of a stolen firearm.
According to reports, around 10:50 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of South 21st Street. Upon arrival, officers began searching the area for evidence and conducting interviews.
As a result of the patrol officer’s investigations, a search warrant was secured for the residence of 711 South 21st Street. Mt Vernon Detectives and a Mt Vernon Crime Scene Technician were called in to assist the patrol officers.
During a search of the residence a stolen 45 caliber handgun and cannabis packaged for sale were located inside the residence and the three subjects were taken into custody.
All three subjects remain in the Jefferson County Jail pending the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
