CLINTON COUNTY — A 26-year-old Carlyle woman was sentenced Thursday in Clinton County Court to 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after she entered into a plea agreement with the state on multiple drug-related charges.
Ashton B. Nettles has remained in the Clinton County Jail since her July 9 arrest on a warrant charging her with two counts Class 2 felony distribution of narcotics and Class 3 felony distribution of narcotics.
Nettles pleaded guilty Thursday to the two Class 2 felony charges in exchange for the Class 3 being dismissed.
She was sentenced to 3-years in prison on each charge to be served concurrently. She must pay all fines and fees, and cooperate with the state in their prosecution of an unnamed co-defendant.
A warrant for Nettles arrest had been issued July 8, after information was presented to the court. Her bail at that time was set at $35,000.
