WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Carterville teacher is in the Williamson County Jail on felony charges of indecent solicitation of a child and grooming.

According to the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office, 27-year-old Jeremy Cobb of Cambria was taken into custody Wednesday. Cobb is currently on administrative leave with pay. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
Officials say the alleged victim in the case is a student at Carterville High School, and that the offenses allegedly happened in May and June of this year.
Superintendent Keith Liddell, with Community Unit School District No. 5 released a statement saying Cobb was not employed by the Carterville District as a driver’s education teacher; rather, he served as a classroom aide during the summer of 2016.
