FAYETTE COUNTY — A pre-trial hearing has been continued in the case of a 23-year-old Vandalia woman accused of causing permanent disability to her infant son when she allegedly held him head high and threw him to a wooden floor.
Aubree Hammer was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Wednesday in the case where she is charged with Class X felony aggravated battery to a child under the age of 13 with great bodily harm or permanent disability.
However, the Fayette County Court continued the matter until September 15, when it will address a mental fitness evaluation of Hammer.
In March the court found a bona fide doubt as to Hammer’s mental fitness to stand trial in the case.
Hammer remains in the Fayette County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
