MARION COUNTY Bail has been set at $50,000 each for two people arrested Sunday by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies for alleged meth offenses.
Both 44-year-old Barbara Helm and 55-year-old Steven Selby are from Assumption, Ill. They were charged Tuesday morning in Marion County Court with Class X felony delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of methamphetamine and Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth.
Deputies responded to a home on Lazy Acres Road in Salem, after receiving a complaint from a resident of people doing drugs in a car in front of his home.
They located and arrested Selby and Helm, along with 28-year-old Michael Whitaker of Effingham. Whitaker was formally charged in court Tuesday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail has been set at $2,500.
