Jeffrey Foutch was reportedly a suspect in the theft of a bike light, and police attempted to stop him when they noticed several lights on his bike.

But Foutch reportedly fled the scene on the bicycle. He was apprehended several blocks later when he attempted to jump from his bike.

A subsequent search of Foutch reportedly revealed a meth pipe, as well as a canister in one of his pockets that contained a small baggie of what appeared to be cannabis and two baggies of a white powdery substance that field tested as methamphetamine.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he is charged with Class 3 felony possession of less than 5 grams of meth. His bail has been set at $10,000.

Foutch says he didn’t realize police were pursuing him, and claimed the coat he was wearing belonged to someone else.

None of the bike lights found on Foutch had been reported stolen.
