Robert Allen Lane, of Troy, Illinois, was also a part-time teacher at Nashville High School at the same time of the alleged abuse in Clinton County.

Lane is charged with Class 2 felonies for alleged aggravated criminal sexual abuse while in a position of trust of a victim between the ages of 13 and 18 and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16.

The crimes were alleged to have taken place in 1996, but charges weren’t filed until similar accusations were made in 2013 against Lane at Collinsville Christian Academy.

Information gathered by the Collinsville Police Department assisted in the Clinton County Case, which was then reopened. A Clinton County grand jury indicted him on the charges in 2014. He is next scheduled for a January 4, status hearing on those charges.

Lane has remained free on $7,500 cash bond since his August 2014 arrest.

He is scheduled for a December 5 jury trial in Madison County on the sexual abuse charges he’s facing there for two alleged incidents with an Academy student in the fall of 2013.
