MARION COUNTY — A 23-year-old Central City man was sentenced Wednesday in Marion County Court to 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, after he pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance.
Mantez Duncan was arrested in June on an outstanding warrant charging him with two Class 2 counts unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $150,000 and he has remained in the Marion County Jail since his arrest.
Duncan was free on bond at the time of his arrest on a Class 4 felony charge out of Vermillion County for possession of a controlled substance. He pleaded guilty in that case earlier this month and was sentenced to 2-years in prison.
His sentence from Marion County will run concurrent with his sentence from Vermillion County. He will also have to serve 2-years mandatory supervised release at the end of his prison term and pay nearly $1,000 in fines and fees.
