VANDALIA — Two students were reportedly taken to the Fayette County Hospital Tuesday morning after their bus was involved in a bus-car crash before school.

According to Vandalia police, a car driven by 61-year-old Donald Swofford Jr., of Vandalia failed to stop at the stop sign at Sunset Drive and Fillmore Street and collided with a Vandalia School Bus.

Reportedly there were 50 children on the bus at the time of the crash. Two of the students were taken to the hospital; all others were checked at the scene and released.

Swofford was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
