Joshua Bauer was sentenced to 12 months probation Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to one count Class 3 felony theft. He was entered into the Offender Initiative Program for first offenders and can have his conviction expunged if he completes the program successfully.

He was additionally ordered to complete 100 hours public service and pay nearly $5,000 in restitution.

Bauer was arrested in December by Mt. Vernon police after a bank investigation into missing money.

Bauer admitted in court to stealing $4,955 from the bank in multiple actions, sometimes taking money from the till and sometimes from the vault.
