JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of a new scam. The caller stated she received a call from a male subject stating he was with Dish Network and told her that her receiver was bad and she needed a new one.

The male on the phone gave the woman a phone number of 818-900-9962 to call him back.

The woman also advised the sheriff’s office that the male had some of her information and knew what package she currently subscribes to with Dish Network.

Dish Network has stated they only do business by mail and will not call on the phone. If you get any calls like this please be aware it is a scam.
