CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia has promoted two officers after Lt. Brian Atchison was appointed police chief.

Sgt. Blaine Uhls has been promoted to lieutenant to fill the vacancy created by Atchison’s appointment and Patrolman Steve Whritenour was promoted to sergeant to fill the vacancy created by Uhls’ promotion.

Both Uhls and Whritenour were sworn into their new positions on Friday. The city will now hire a new officer to fill the patrol vacancy created by Whritenour’s promotion.
