FAYETTE COUNTY — Jury selection is set for Monday in the 2016 Fayette County felony home invasion and child endangerment case against a 32-year-old Nokomis man.

Christopher Scholes is accused of leaving a 4-year-old child on the porch of a home as he entered a Ramsey residence in May 2016, subsequently striking one of the homeowners in the face with a closed fist.

Scholes has remained in the Fayette County Jail since his arrest last May, with bail set at $250,000. He is facing charges of Class X felony home invasion causing injury, Class 3 felony aggravated battery, Class 4 felony criminal trespass to a residence with a person present, and misdemeanor child endangerment.
