JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 37-year-old Herrin man remains in the Jefferson County Jail after he was arrested over the weekend for alleged home invasion and battery.

Dustin L. Knight was formally charged Monday in Jefferson County court with Class 3 felony aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 9 p.m. Friday to a report that Knight knocked on the door of a Woodlawn home and then pushed his way inside.

Once inside the home Knight allegedly battered a man inside. Two other people in the home reportedly restrained Knight until deputies arrived on the scene.

Knight reportedly was injured during the incident but declined medical treatment. His bail has been set at $75,000.
