JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two Sesser residents are in the Jefferson County Jail following their arrests Thursday in connection with an April burglary to the Franklin County Coal Mine in Scheller.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded April 17 to the Franklin County Coal Mine, also known as Consolidated Coal Company on Emerson City Raod in Scheller for a reported burglary.
Following a thorough investigation, 36-year-old Robert Gifford, and 35-year-old Jennifer Gifford, were each arrested and charged with burglary and theft over $500.
The arrests were made with the assistance of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Sesser Police Department and both subjects were turned over to the Jefferson County correctional staff to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
