JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 26-year-old Mt. Vernon man who had previously been acquitted of murder is now facing meth-conspiracy charges.
Dewayne Moore has been charged in Jefferson County Court with a Class X Felony conspiring to obtain 15 to 100 grams of meth with two other subjects and deliver that meth to a confidential source of the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
A Class X felony is punishable by between 6 and 30 years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors have indicated additional charges could be pending. Moore is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
