Jason Plummer has announced he will run for the Southern Illinois seat. Plummer’s family owns RP Lumber. He previously ran for Lt. Governor in 2010 with Bill Brady’s gubernatorial slate.
Plummer also ran unsuccessfully in 2012 for Congress in the 12th Congressional District. He is joined on the Republican ticket for McCarter’s seat by Centralia businessman Ben Stratemeyer and Clinton County board member Rafael Him.
For the House seat being vacated by Salem Republican John Cavaletto, two individuals have announced they’re seeking nomination. Businessmen Brian Milleville of Effingham and Adam Smith of Centralia are both asking their Party for votes.
