SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — YouthBuild and Rend Lake College have partnered together to provide Healthcare Bridge classes for youth between the ages of 17 and 24 years old who need their high school equivalency (HSE) diploma and would like a career in the Healthcare industry. Applications can be submitted now through October 23, 2017.
According to Ryan Alton, YouthBuild Program Manager, the program is for any young adult who has dropped out of high school and has trouble getting and keeping a job.
YouthBuild of Jefferson and Marion Counties is a program of Spero Family Services, and is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Labor and helps young adults living in a lower-income household and without a high school education, be able to earn a high school equivalency (HSE) diploma, learn valuable work skills, and place them in jobs to earn money.
The partnership with YouthBuild adds more benefits with the educational offerings including transportation to and from Rend Lake College.
Students successfully completing the requirements of the Healthcare Bridge Program have the option to continue on and enroll in college level healthcare or manufacturing courses.
YouthBuild is currently co-enrolling students in to the RLC Healthcare Bridge.
This is a free program. Anyone interested should apply online at sperofs.org/youthbuild.6
