CLAY COUNTY — Two Clay County juveniles were taken into custody Wednesday night on warrants stemming from ongoing burglary investigations.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Flora Police Department, they continue their investigation into the burglaries that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

However, around 9 p.m. Wednesday, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Effingham Police Department that they had taken two juveniles into custody on Clay County warrants.

A 16 year old male and 15 year old female were later transported to the Clay County Jail and later to the Franklin County Detention Center.

The sheriff’s office and police department continue their investigations into the burglaries that occurred on Tuesday evening.

At this point in the investigation it is believed that the firearms taken in the burglaries have been recovered.

Two juvenile males were arrested Tuesday night in connection with the burglaries. They were also taken to the Franklin County Detention Center to await the formal filing of charges that likely include burglary and possession of stolen firearms.
