MURPHYSBORO — State Rep. Terri Bryant of Murphysboro will be facing a challenger in the March 2018 primary for the 115th State House Seat.
Dr. Paul Jacobs announced Friday that he is running for the seat because according to his press release, career politicians have disregarded the wishes of taxpayers and have voted to raise state income taxes 32 percent, which is now taking hundreds of dollars away from the average family in southern Illinois. Bryant voted for that tax increase.
Jacobs says southern Illinois needs a principled conservative leader who will listen to and support our taxpayers and stand against the Chicago political machine.
For the last 38 years, Jacobs has practiced Optometry in Carbondale. He and his wife, Rhoda, own Von Jakob Winery in Alton Pass.
