VANDALIA — An 18-year-old Vandalia man has been arrested in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries reported on one day last month.

According to the Vandalia Police Department, Carl E. Carroll has been arrested for criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and burglary from a motor vehicle.

Carroll’s arrest stems from more than a dozen reports of thefts from motor vehicles on November 16.

He’s being held in the Fayette County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
