WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 72-year-old Ashley woman was airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Illinois Route 15 in Washington County.
According to Illinois State Police, just before 9 a.m. Thursday, 28-year-old Holly Reinheimer of Freeburg was eastbound on IL 15.
Reinheimer was reportedly passing multiple vehicles when she lost control of her 2016 Toyota Camry just west of Beaucoup Township Road and collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by 72-year-old Jane Pelcynski.
Pelcynski’s vehicle overturned and came to a final rest on the north side of the roadway. Reinheimer’s vehicle left the roadway to the north where it came to final rest.
Pelczynski was airlifted from the scene with major injuries. Reinheimer was uninjured but was cited for improper passing and failure to reduce speed.
