FRANKLIN COUNTY — A Fort Campbell, Kentucky man is facing multiple charges after Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call regarding an armed home invasion in rural Thompsonville around 1:15 Sunday morning.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones, 24-year-old Lucas C. Boyd is being held on tentative charges of home invasion with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. He is currently held in the Franklin County Jail without bond pending review by the State’s Attorney’s office and the setting of bond by the Circuit Court.
Jones says Boyd was an ex-boyfriend of the reporting party. After a brief stand-off between deputies and Boyd, who was armed, Boyd was disarmed by another man inside the home. Boyd was taken into custody by deputies. An AK-47 style rifle was recovered.
The sheriff says there is no evidence the gun fired during the incident, even though several people were threatened with it including responding deputies.
