CLINTON COUNTY — A 24-year-old Carlyle man was hospitalized after laying in the middle of Shattuc Road and being run over by a vehicle around 12:30 Monday morning.

According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Kole Koehler, said he was trying to be run over. Koehler reportedly asked Jordan Lippert, the 20-year-old rural Carlyle man who was driving the car that struck him, to drop him off at a home in the 100 block of North Maple in Centralia. After leaving Koehler at the home, Lippert went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital where he told hospital officials what had happened.

Emergency Room officials quickly notified Centralia police who went to the home along with Centralia firefighters and Lifestar Ambulance. They transported Koehler to the hospital for treatment of head and back injuries.
