According to Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson, police are searching for Cody M. Matson of 610 East Kerr Street in Centralia.
Dodson says that at approximately 4:48 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a shooting at Matson’s residence. However, upon their arrival, officers were unable to locate anyone in the area but found a vehicle damaged by gunfire and several shell casings.
Then at 10:42 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Clinmar Boulevard on a report of a second shooting that was subsequently determined to be related to the earlier shooting on Kerr Street.
Police were able to obtain a video showing a subject identified as Matson as pulling into a rear driveway of a residence, exiting the vehicle and then shooting at 24-year-old Matthew S. Woods, also of Centralia. Matson is then apparently seen firing into an occupied vehicle that Woods had exited during the shooting.
At this time Matson has not been located and is being sought by the Centralia Police Department. Dodson says Matson should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information as to Matson’s whereabouts should immediately call the police department.
