CENTRALIA — The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Wednesday afternoon incident that led to the discovery of a man with a head wound lying on the side of Jolliff Bridge Road.

Centralia police initially responded to a call around 3 p.m. Wednesday of shots fired on Monroe Street just east of Jolliff Bridge Road.

While responding, officers reportedly found the man bleeding from the head. It was unclear at that time what caused the man’s injury but he was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department is in charge of the investigation as it occurred outside the Centralia City Limits. They have not yet released any details on the incident.
