CENTRALIA — The arrest of a 23-year-old Centralia man over the weekend in connection with a reported robbery of the Farm Fresh Store on South Poplar Street is now also charged with armed robbery stemming from a June armed robbery of the Huck’s Convenience Store on East Calumet.
According to Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson, Johnny Lee Skurat was already in the Marion County Jail for the July 8 incident at Farm Fresh when he was additionally charged with the armed robbery at Huck’s.
The clerk reported that a masked white male entered the store and demanding money and violently shoved one of the clerks.
The suspect fled the store westbound. Dodson says on Wednesday the Centralia Police Department Identified and charged a Skurat with Armed Robbery for the June 30th incident at Huck’s.
Skurat remains in the Marion County Jail with bail set at $2,500 on the Farm Fresh burglary case.
He was free at the time of his weekend arrest on a $2,500 recognizance bond in a separate theft case stemming from an alleged incident in June at the Casey’s General Store in Wamac.
