CLINTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting motorists of road construction starting next week in Clinton County.
The first project will start Monday, weather permitting, and will result in westbound U.S. 50 from west of Shattuc Road to the Marion County line will be intermittently restricted to one lane.
The work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and is expected to be completed by late November.
The work is necessary to complete pavement repairs, culvert extensions, and asphalt resurfacing.
Traffic in both directions will be maintained using flaggers and could result in delays.
The second project will start Tuesday, weather permitting on IL 161 from Church Steeple Road to Slant Road near Bartelso.
The work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and will result in the road intermittently being restricted to one lane. Traffic in both directions will be maintained using flaggers.
The work is necessary to complete pavement repairs and is expected to be completed by late September.
