CLINTON COUNTY — A 45-year-old Centralia man and a 12-year-old passenger from another vehicle were transported with life-threatening injuries late Thursday afternoon from a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 50 at Boulder Road.

According to Illinois State Police, around 5:48 p.m. Thursday, 35-year-old Ashley Lynch, of O’Fallon, Illinois, was traveling southbound on Boulder Road when she failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a vehicle being driven by Shane Branon who was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50.

Both vehicles came to a stop on U.S. 50. Lynch was taken to an area hospital while a 12-year-old passenger in her vehicle and Branon were both airlifted from the scene.

Lynch’s injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening. Charges in the crash are pending further investigation.
