MARION COUNTY — Bond was set Monday in Marion County Court at $35,000 for a 29-year-old Mt. Vernon man arrested by Centralia Police on multiple charges Sunday.

Ivan Walton was arrested after Centralia police investigated suspicious activity of two men near Blue Goose Liquor and allegedly found Walton was in possession of 5.2-grams of meth split between four baggies along with a small amount of heroin.

Walton was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged possession of meth, possession with intent to deliver meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also wanted on an outstanding DuPage County warrant for theft and warrants in two New York state counties for burglary.

He was formally charged Monday in Marion County Court with Class 1 felony delivery of between 5 and 15 grams of meth, Class 2 felony possession of between 5 and 15 grams of meth and Class 4 possession of a controlled substance.

Walton is next scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on March 22 for a preliminary hearing and a first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
