CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia is warning residents about a phone scam targeting residents and water utility customers.

Residents have reported receiving various phone calls regarding high water usage, disconnection, and collection of payment.

The caller ID has reportedly appeared as coming from the City of Centralia.

Do not provide any personal information, credit card, debit card, or bank account numbers to anyone over the phone.

The City of Centralia does not contact residents to collect payments over the phone.
