MARION COUNTY — A 32-year-old Kinmundy woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Marion County Court to two of six counts accusing her of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 and creating child pornography of a victim under the age of 13.

Vickie Odem has remained in the Marion County Jail since her arrest nearly two years ago in Clay County on a $500,000 Marion County warrant charging her with two Class X felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 6 and four Class X felony counts child pornography depicting a child under the age of 13.

The case against Odem was last scheduled for jury trial on April 12; however, defense counsel asked for that date to be vacated and a pre-trial hearing to be scheduled for April 26.

During that hearing, Odem agreed to enter into a plea agreement on two of the six Class X felony charges against her in exchange for the other four being dismissed.

She’s scheduled to be sentenced on those two charges June 28.
