CENTRALIA — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a reported an armed vehicular hijacking Monday night just outside Centralia.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Monday on South Perrine Street.
The owner of the pickup truck told deputies he had pulled over and was helping the female driver of another vehicle when he saw a male subject that he had not noticed earlier getting into his truck.
The vehicle owner reported seeing the subject climb into his truck before the subject fired a gun toward the vehicle owner. He then witnessed the subject flee with his truck northbound on Perrine Street.
The female who had appeared to have car trouble then left in her vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s department, the stolen vehicle was a red 2007 2500 Chevrolet diesel pickup and has not yet been located.
No injuries were reported.
