Carolyn (June) Delaney, 85, of Mount Vernon, died at 3:30 am August 1, 2022 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Mrs. Delaney was born November 12, 1936 in Mount Vernon to Lawrence Barker and Elsie A. (Walker) Barker. She married Leroy Delaney in Bluford on November 16, 1954.Mrs. Delaney is survived by her daughter, Anita C. Hayes and partner, Donald S. Golec; son, Robert L. Delaney and wife, Dottie; grandsons, Adam, Jim, Noah, and Justin; brother, Richard Barker; several great-grandchildren; and best friend, Marilyn Barker.Mrs. Delaney was retired and of the Baptist Faith. She loved to sew, go fishing with her sister, Shirley, enjoyed her flower bed and taking care of babies. She had a special place in her heart for Kambria and Madilyn Hayes, Noah and Jim, Tim Neal and Harold Lee Delaney. All of which she held dear and all will miss Granny June June.A special thank you to Little Rock and Marilyn, the Daniels Clan, and Tish.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; son, Alan; grandson, Jason; her parents; sisters, Linda, Shirley, Sharon; and brother, Bob.
