Maribel Joyce Beal, 84, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 4:31 a.m. October 26, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was born on February 2, 1938, in Waltonville, Illinois, the daughter of Irvin and Viola (Walkiner) Shurtz.

She is survived by two children, Debra Delaney and husband Jim of Texico, and Gary Beal of Mt. Vernon; and two grandchild Bryan Delaney and Seth Beal, both of Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Beal was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Viola Shurtz; and three sisters, Marilyn Sinks, Marretta Hiller and Donna Champ.
