HERRIN, IL — Herrin Police continue to investigate a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning in the 1300 block of West Monroe Street.

Police say after getting a call about a domestic dispute and shots fired, they went to the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Carbondale in critical condition.

A woman was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and taken to Williamson County Jail.

Police are not releasing any names at this time, but say that the man and woman are married.
