JEFFERSON COUNTY — Bond was set at $250,000 Friday in Jefferson County Court for a 28-year-old Woodlawn man charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Douglas Farris Friday on a Jefferson County warrant charging him with eight Class X felony counts of reproduction of child pornography depicting a victim under the age of 13.

Farris was formally advised in court Friday of the charges against him and the possibility of extended-term sentencing if convicted. He informed the court he intends to hire a private attorney to represent him in the case.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for July 26 and a first appearance with his retained attorney.
