MADISON COUNTY — Three people were killed and 14 others injured Wednesday morning when a Greyhound bus struck three semis parked on an Interstate 70 off-ramp near Highland, Illinois.
According to Illinois State Police, no occupants of the parked semis were injured in the incident that happened near the Silver Lake Rest Area near Highland just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Four of those injured were airlifted from the scene. No one in the trucks was reported injured.
Officials said the Greyhound bus was traveling from Indianapolis to St. Louis.
The bus was believed to be carrying about 30 people, including the driver, the Associated Press reported.
